| Fanwort is an aquatic plant that is native to the southeastern United States, but it is considered to be a non-native invasive in the rest of the United States. It can grow in water 3-10 ft. (0.9-3m) deep. Leaves are submerged, fan-shaped, deeply dissected and about 2 in. (5 cm) wide. Fanwort can spread by fragmentation and in the late summer stems become brittle and break apart, thus facilitating spread. |
