Description: The tussock moth caterpillar (Lepidoptera: Lymantriidae: Dasychira spp.) feeds on a variety of forest trees and shrubs. This genus is not known to cause serious problems in the forest. Their hairs may cause a skin reaction in some people. The pupal cocoon is covered with hairs.
